Teenaged charity walk raises Rs. 78.5 lakh for NGOs

Motif Charity Walk in its 13th edition on Sunday raised a total of Rs. 78.5 lakhs through individual registrations. Motif’s matching contribution of Rs. 9.56 lakhs, and sponsorship cheques were written directly in the name of the NGOs.

The event had over 4747 participants. Since 2003, the Motif Charity Walks have raised funds around Rs. 4.34 crores for 39 different NGOs.

Kaushal Mehta, founder and CEO, Motif, Inc. said, “It has been a wonderful journey. The idea we initiated as the first walking event of our city become a teenager today. We are overwhelmed to see how 55347 individuals, 220 companies and countless Motif Volunteers have come together to promote health awareness and raise 4.34 crores for 39 different NGOs over 13 years. 62 companies, including two leading international brands supported the walk. This event provides a transparent platform for individuals and companies to come together to promote health awareness. This event provides a transparent platform for individuals and companies to come together to promote health awareness, and raise funds for different NGOs every year. The 5 km walk / 9.5 km run was flagged off from the L. D. College of Engineering ground, and passed by the B. K. School of Management, Vijay Char Rasta, Helmet Char Rasta, IIM cross road, and PRL. This year’s highlights were the3 School Bands, Motif Live Band, Drummer, Dholis, Guitarists, Magicians, and dance groups, which created a fun environment for participants along the route of the Charity Walk.

The beneficiary NGOs of this year’s Charity Walk were:

Q: What would you say is the outlook for the BPO industry in 2013?

On the one hand we see the global economic outlook becoming a challenge and on the other we see companies who have invested in their consumer experience gaining market share and showing double digit growth. The outlook is bright for organisations investing in tools and processes to enhance the end customer experience and create process improvements for their clients. In this ever connected world, the customer has to be at the centre of the universe at all times. Product choices, ease of doing business, security assurances, post purchase experiences with customer service are all becoming key in today’s world, more so since so much business is being transacted on the Internet. BPO companies that are able to rise to this challenge will have tremendous opportunity to grow.
